Hawke’s Bay Inc, the region’s economic development and tourism agency, is now under the supervision of the Regional Council, and will be funded through that Council in the future.

In the May BayBuzz Digest, Neil Kirton, Chairman of HB Inc (Venture Hawke’s Bay as of July 1) provides the rationale for this new approach in Venture Hawke’s Bay Sets New Pace. And Managing Director Janet Takarangi provides an update on the agency’s strategy going forward, as well as reviewing achievements over the past year, in Marketing the Bay.

Also in the May issue, company director and consultant John Newland offers sage advice to businesses trying to cope with the recession, in Unleash Your Employees!

Finally, from the Arts & Lifestyle department of the latest Digest, try Roy Dunningham’s review of the Creative Hawke’s Bay Invitational, Mark Sweet’s recounting of the history of Te Mata Estate winery, and Brooks Belford’s applause for local music impresario Keith Gosney and Grada, the Irish band he’s brought back to the Bay for a performance this Friday night (May 22 at the Playhouse Theatre in Hastings … don’t miss it!).

Just click on the titles to enjoy!

Tom Belford

P.S. And check out BrainFood for more stimulating stuff to do around the Bay this month.
