Kevin SneeDr Kevin Snee, Chief Executive of Devon Primary Care Trust in the UK, has been appointed CEO of the HB District Health Board.

Dr Snee, who qualified in medicine in 1982, will assume his new position in October. Until then, Warrick Frater continues to serve as Acting CEO.

According to one online bio: “Dr Snee worked as a GP and in a number of hospital roles before going into public health. In 1995, he joined Bury and Rochdale Health Authority as director of modernisation and public health. He was appointed as chief executive of Bolton Primary Care Trust in 2002. His work has reflected a long-standing interest in developing primary care, attaining clinical excellence, and in addressing inequalities. Dr Snee joined Devon Primary Care Trust in 2006, heading an organistion that is responsible for providing health services to more than 750,000 people.”

According to the DHB press release, Dr Snee will be coming to Hawke’s Bay with wife Ann and three children ages eight, six and four.
