You can still take the BayBuzz poll on spending priorities of area Councils. Just click here.

Their “wish list” includes seven projects that could cost in the range of $275 million dollars.

We’d like to know what you think of these projects … we’ll be sharing results with councillors.

So far, respondents are voicing the most opposition to the proposed regional sports park … 49% strongly oppose and another 24% lean toward opposing. That’s almost three out of four respondents.

But other projects — like the idea of buying land to preserve at Ocean Beach, building the Northern Arterial Route, and building affordable, sustainable homes in West Flaxmere enjoy considerable support.

And in general terms, respondents are deadlocked over spending on big projects. 48% agree with the statement that it would be better to focus spending on improving day-to-day services or on saving the money, versus spending on big projects like these. But another 48% disagree.

How do you feel about that one?
