Standing For: Central Hawke’s Bay District Council
Aramoana-Ruahine Ward

Voter Guide Profile: If elected, I will focus on the key issues that impact our community every day — including rates, roading standards, and ensuring greater efficiency and transparency within Council operations.

I care about the future of Central Hawke’s Bay and will advocate for strong rural representation, responsible financial management, and practical community-focused solutions. I bring a fresh perspective to Council and believe in taking a proactive approach to issues rather than simply reacting to them.

As an active sheep and cattle farmer, I have lived in the Flemington/Whetukura area for the past 16 years with my wife, Wendy. We are proud parents of four adult children and grandparents to six. Born and raised in Hawke’s Bay, I am proud to call Central Hawke’s Bay home.

I bring over 30 years of governance experience at both regional and national levels. This includes 15 years on the Executive Committee of the Hawke’s Bay A&P Society — five of those as President — as well as 12 years on the Royal Agricultural Society Executive Committee. I have also served as Chairman of the New Zealand Beef Expo and currently serve as a Trustee of the Tomoana Showgrounds Charitable Trust.

I believe I can bring about “Positive Change” within Central Hawke’s Bay District Council and am committed to helping create a strong and sustainable future for our district.
