Voter Guide Profile: Alwyn is standing for a third term. He has a comprehensive understanding of the Heretaunga Ward and brings experience, governance and management skills to the Council Chamber. He has a mixed portfolio of interests including governance, business consultancy and community work. Alwyn is an experienced winemaker who for many years owned and operated Ngatarawa vineyard and winery at Bridge Pa. He is a Trustee of Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park, Graeme Dingle Foundation Hawke’s Bay, Napier Pilot City Trust, Napier/Ahuriri Homeless Shelter Society and Waipureku Waitangi Trust. Alwyn regards the Heretaunga Plains, the Coast and our outstanding natural landscapes as Hawke’s Bay treasures and is committed to their use and enjoyment while safe-guarding their long term economic, productive, environmental, social and cultural value. He is acutely aware of the huge impact of Cyclone Gabrielle on our District and supports Council’s current Long Term Plan as the best path to recovery.
