Voter Guide Profile: My principal place of residence is in the Ruataniwha Ward area.

I moved to Waipukurau in June 2020 from Hastings. Until August 2023,I was employed as a Seafarers’ Welfare Officer at Napier. I have previously worked at Watties; in pack houses; looking after intellectually disabled adults; detailing vehicles, but mainly I have spent most of my working life in hospitals in Auckland, Melbourne and Hastings.

I am a practising Christian,and part of that involves volunteering for monthly visits to the prison with other church members. I have been doing this for over 10 years in two different stretches. I also hold a church group meeting at my house one night a week. I am starting a community garden at my property that needs more volunteers.

In a different life, over 40 years ago, I studied Political Studies at Auckland University.

I feel I have something to offer the community of Central Hawke’s Bay, and I am putting my hand up to help, not just criticize.
