Jacqueline Supra is standing with CARE for Hastings to bring sharper financial discipline and clear priorities to the council. With a strong background in business development, process improvement and contact centre optimisation, she brings real-world experience in driving efficiency and value.

As the owner of Seasons Art Class Hawke’s Bay and Events and Fundraising Lead at the Cancer Society Hawke’s Bay, Jaki understands the importance of managing resources responsibly. Her governance experience spans Skylight Trust, Trade Aid, and the Havelock North Business Association, where she currently serves as Vice Chair.

Jaki believes the council must get back to basics – focusing on core services, maintaining infrastructure, and eliminating waste. She advocates for reducing council debt using surpluses and making smarter investment choices that don’t burden future generations.

With fresh ideas and fiscal common sense, Jaki is committed to ensuring every dollar spent serves the people of Hastings, not bureaucratic overhead or non-essential spending.

Jaki has lived in Hastings for the past eight years, starting as a rent payer and now a homeowner. Like many locals, she has felt the pinch of rising rents, increasing rates, and a cost of living that’s outpacing wages. That’s why she’s committed to getting council back to basics: cutting waste, focusing on core services, and ensuring every dollar of ratepayer money is spent wisely and transparently
