Voter Guide Profile Mayor: Are you and your family finding it hard to pay the rates bill with rises of 28.85% over the last two years? Do you want a change in direction and priorities and a back to basics approach? I’m the only councillor that voted against these increases and the poorly prioritised projects. I have a background in nursing (NZ Blood Service) and 20+ years in St.John Ambulance so I have a people first approach. As an experienced councillor and chair of the People and Places committee and the City Services portfolio holder I know what our priorities should be. Water roads and rubbish need to be sorted first while other projects need to be put on hold, these decisions should be made by Napier people not by people outside our city’s boundaries. I will continue to turn up (highest attendance rate of current councillors) and represent you and keep rates affordable.

Voter Guide Profile Napier Central Ward: Napier is a great place to live and raise a family but has lost focus. We need to get back to basic core services, water, roads, and rubbish. I’ve heard whilst out door knocking that families are struggling in the current economic times, I will actively continue to find ways to make rates more affordable. That might mean we need to stop or reprioritise some non-essential projects. As a current councillor I have experience being the chair of the People and Places committee and hold the City Services portfolio, I have a background in Nursing and worked for the NZ Blood Service and 20 plus years with St.John Ambulance also worked with youth coaching and training. I’ve built many positive relationships and know how to get things done to improve Napier. I will continue to turn up (highest meeting attendance rate) and represent your family and our community.
