Another Grey Power Napier candidates forum coming up, 16 September

Napier Grey Power has put questions to all Napier candidates, both for the Napier City Council and the Napier constituency of the HB Regional Council.

The response was strong and here they are, presented in their entirety in the current Grey Power Napier newsletter.

Grey Power Napier is holding a second Candidates meeting just for the 23 individuals running for Ward seats, on Tuesday 16 September 1:30 pm at St Columba’s. All welcome.

If your organisation is engaging with local election candidates and you have ‘intel’ that might benefit voters, send it along to BayBuzz. We’ll post it on our Election Central and you’ll be reaching 1000’s of HB citizens following the campaigns.

  1. Thanks to Crl Boag for her outgoing boasting of herself and Deputy Brosnan, what a joke! Most of the crowd saw through the ‘Look at me, it’s all about me’, aka the Mayor Wise show. People can’t hide their true nature. Something for voters to think about in the coming weeks. Good luck to the other mayoral candidates.

    1. Definitely time for a new Mayor in Napier, Wise is past her use by date and is the main one pushing for Maori Wards it seems. Surely people realize that Te Pati Maori are doing their utmost to ruin our Parliament, and claim that they will be in control of N.Z. by 2040, and that includes taking over the Maori Ward seats and then the Councils. People need to see what is going on and block it.

  2. I see Boag has firmly placed her ‘Support Maori Wards’ narrative in GreyPower handouts too. Who paid for that, please advise, Crl.

  3. To the anonymous “Gerald” and “Richard L” – I have always personally been in support of Maori wards, you can look at my voting records to see that.

The one article published in the Grey Power newsletter on the subject was my opinion and labelled as such. No one has submitted any other articles.

The Keep Maori wards ad in the latest edition was paid for, and none of the anti-wards advocates asked to put in an ad though many were able to clearly articulate their anti-wards opinions as Local Body candidates.

Grey Power does not have a position on all political issues but encourages members to debate and discuss them.

I put together that newsletter almost single-handedly, it was 32 pages and took me three weeks to compile. It was a labour of love, and I got paid nothing to do that nor have I been paid for any other articles published in Bay Buzz.

I’m open to honest feedback, but from real people with real names, not keyboard warriors hiding behind nom de plumes, be they “Gerald”, “Richard L”, or “Jimmy La”.
