Today, I share my final priority, one that is at the heart of community well-being across Heretaunga Hastings and Hawke’s Bay.

4.  Parks, Inclusion and Community Wellbeing

Regional parks are taonga (treasures).  They connect us to nature, culture, and each other.  I will focus on protecting and enhancing these spaces so they remain places of healing, learning, and belonging.

Te Mata Park is a treasured maunga (mountain).  I will focus on maintaining its funding and opposing any cuts that weaken its long-term future.  It must be supported with vision and care.

I will focus on inclusive planning that reflects the diversity of our people and supports access for all.  Green spaces are vital to education, hauora (health and wellbeing), and resilience.  I will back environmental learning, strong community connection, and regional pride.
