It will be a slightly different Faraday Centre than we’re used to when the museum presents ‘Frankenstein and Friends’ next Thursday (18 Feb) as part of the Art Deco festival.

Celebrating some of the most iconic movie monsters of the 1930s, guests are invited to dress up – and not restricted to Art Deco. All monsters, Draculas and damsels in distress are welcome. Faraday suggests bringing “your tastiest date” to venture through the doors and into the museum full of spine-tingling monsters, vampires and mummies. There’ll be scares galore and in their own words a “slightly creepy” atmosphere.

Best known for being a museum of technology with hands-on experiences, the Faraday Centre is a place of discovery where history comes alive. Let’s hope it doesn’t come too alive on Thursday!

  1. The Faraday Centre is one of the best places to visit in the Bay – great for kids and adults – hands-on and nostalgic – leaves the MTG for dead – and they do it all with volunteers and no help from the Council despite being a place highlighting Hawke’s Bay history and being a fun place.
