Jerry Greer, Councillor for the Aramoana/Ruahine Ward, reaffirms his commitment to the prosperity and resilience of Central Hawke’s Bay’s rural heartland.

“It’s been a privilege to represent the Aramoana/Ruahine community,” says Greer. “My focus remains on ensuring our rural heartland continues to flourish, addressing the unique needs of our farmers and residents, and contributing to a prosperous future for all of Central Hawke’s Bay.”

A seasoned advocate for the district, Greer brings significant experience to the council table. In addition to his role as Councillor, he serves as Deputy Chair of the Finance, Infrastructure & Performance Committee. He also contributes to several key committees, including, the CHB Museum (External Committee), the Strategy, Growth, and Community Committee, and the Transport Committee. Greer also plays a vital role within the Rural Support Trust as an East Coast Trustee and works closely with rural families and communities to provide guidance and assistance during challenging times.

During his tenure, Greer has addressed topics relevant to the region’s agricultural sector and development. His familiarity with the district and roading network was utilised during Cyclone Gabrielle to help prioritise support for isolated communities.

As he seeks a third term, Greer’s ongoing participation reflects his experience with local issues and council procedures.

Greer remains committed to working collaboratively with local communities, industry stakeholders, and fellow councillors to ensure Central Hawke’s Bay continues to grow and prosper for generations to come.
