Absolutely (and legitimately) need to get there and back?

Regional GoBay public transport is continuing to operate on a weekend timetable to ensure people involved in essential services can still commute to work, and those without transport can get to and from the supermarket or for health care.

They are however operating less frequently and passengers must sit two metres from each other, including at bus stops. Travel is free, but there are restrictions on some routes.

GoBay serves Napier-Hastings, Havelock North, Bay View, Flaxmere, Taradale and Clive. The normal weekend timetable is operating as usual and on weekdays the Saturday timetable applies on PLUS Routes 10, 11, 16A, 16B and 17.

And if you are driving a trade or personal vehicle the good news is that parking meters are no longer being monitored; parking is free throughout the region and there are plenty of spaces available.

Regardless, lockdown means most people aren’t driving anywhere unless its ‘essential’, for medical reasons or stocking up at the supermarket closest to them.
