Cotton buds are one of those single-use plastics that will very soon be banned in most countries. But in the meantime try using a facecloth or cotton pad instead. Or if you really have to use one these compostable ones are great. For every box of 200 plastic cotton buds, you avoid buying you save 4.8 kg of carbon emissions entering the atmosphere.
