A festival of everything ‘tech’, Techweek is a nationwide series of events showcasing and celebrating Kiwi innovation, design and technology. Held from May 22 to 30, the presentations, symposiums and workshops provide opportunities for the sectors to collaborate, create connections and showcase their work.

While there are several live events scheduled in Hawke’s Bay, there are also virtual and hybrid events that anyone can attend from the comfort of their desktop.

Highlights include ‘Innovative tech in the classroom’ on 24 May – a full day’s professional development for all teachers interested in exploring a range of innovative digital technologies and on Tuesday 25 May, there’s a free hour-long workshop being held at Toitoi in Hastings where experts will help SMEs with digital solutions to be more productive.

David Downs is the key note speaker at the ‘Omron Robotics and Automation for Agritech in Hawke’s Bay’ presentation being held at Pettigrew Green Arena on Tuesday 25 May at 5.30pm. It’s a free event that coincides with the Careers Expo being held over two days (25-26 May). EIT and Omron have redeveloped a robotics lab on the EIT campus and this will be showcased at the expo, including a display of working robotic arms and autonomous mobile robots with live demonstrations and interactive sessions.

A schedule of events being held in the Bay can be found here and the festival programme is on the Techweek website.
