East Coast Lab is a collaboration of about a dozen NZ science, academic and civil defence organisations all studying  the earthquake (and resultant tsunami) risks associated with the colliding tectonic plates off our east coast. The likes of HB Civil Defence, NIWA, GNS Science, Massey and Auckland Universities, the Earthquake Commission and others.

Next Tuesday 21 July, from 7-8pm, the Lab is running a virtual talk in which scientists will be available online  to discuss their work and answer questions about what they are finding and the risks posed by our offshore geology.

The presentation will be driven solely be viewer questions, and you can submit your questions here: https://bit.ly/AskUsAnything-Qs or come along with a question you want answered.

To get warmed up for the occasion, watch this brief video.
