Official Release

Napier City Council Media Release

The Redclyffe Transfer Station will open to Napier residents for flood-damaged household items only from 1pm, Wednesday 22 February. This will be free of charge until 4.00pm Sunday 26 February.

Large queues are expected.  If you are unable to dispose of household waste at this point, please be assured that there will be further opportunity for free landfill access for certain flood damaged properties and these households will be individually advised in due course.

From Thursday, the Transfer Station will operate on their standard business hours (Monday to Saturday 7.30am-4.45pm, Sunday 9am-4.45pm with all customers to be off-site by 5pm every day).

For your safety, please wear masks and wash your hands thoroughly after handling flood damaged items.

We understand that there will be a large number of households needing to use this facility. We ask that our community remains patient with Redclyffe staff who are doing the best they can, as they manage this large influx of waste.

Please note, the landfill is not open for commercial loads.
