Whizz, bang, crash! It’s Extraordinary Machines of Clockwork and Steam!
Industrial revolution meets futuristic fantasy in this exciting new performance by the Bay Cities’ Symphonic Band. With an programme featuring works from Gershwin to Goodwin, this steampunk inspired concert promises a joyride from start to finish! Thanks to funding from Creative Communities Napier, we have been able to purchase some exciting new percussion instruments which will feature in several songs. Special guests Octavius Choir join the band for The Polar Express suite and also present individual items, including Christmas favourites. This concert in the impressive Waiapu Cathedral is a first for the Symphonic Band and rehearsals have shown that the acoustic in the soaring building is ideal for the sounds we create. Entry is by koha/donation.
