John Walsh – “A Style Guide to New Zealand Cities”

The Arts Society Hawke’s Bay welcomes John Walsh – “A Style Guide to New Zealand Cities” on Monday 4th March at 7pm at the Havelock North Function Centre.
John, a writer, editor and Architecture specialist’s talk will draw on his recent series of architectural guides to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. He will discuss the most significant buildings in each city, their architectural heritage and style and the architects who designed them. John will talk about how growth, changes in economic fortune, seismic evens and civic carelessness have impacted on the architecture of each city.
We are a membership society but if you’d like to come to a talk and see if the society interests you, please come along as a guest. Guests can attend a maximum of 2 talks a year. There is a fee of $25 / $10 for students which includes sandwiches, wine, tea or coffee and something sweet, al served after the talk. You’ll have an opportunity to talk to John Walsh and meet other members.
