Royal Underground

Royal-Underground-INSTA

January 14 @ 10:00 am 4:00 pm

Three dudes, armed with a paint brush and a desire to transmute paint on canvas into something charged with meaning and spirit. Excited to team up with @dalisusanto and @zonny.flow, two multi-disciplinary creative powerhouses at @creativeartsnapier in the New Year.

Dali Susanto is an Indonesian born creative that exudes all things art! He is a man on a mission, and that mission is to spread joy through the power of creativity. Having made a name for himself across Hawkes Bay and wider Aotearoa through his distinctive and playful style, Dali’s works on canvas fuse pop culture and traditional patterning to create distinct and multi-dimensional images. Word has it he’s cooking up a batch of new works for the show that are a departure from his usual stalwart style.

Zonny, a multidisciplinary artist hailing from Te Matau-a-Māui, is a meticulous worker of paint. Deftly blending colour and form, Zonny draws upon his hip-hop and musical influences in the creation of his works on canvas. Fluidly melding figurative portraiture and psychedelic patterning, Zonny’s images seem to glow and dance whilst the soul of the person depicted rings true. A multi-talented and multi-faceted creative, Zonny will be cooking up some unique and exciting new recipes for Royal Underground V1.

Nick Wilkey is a British born Aotearoa raised multi-disciplinary artist, whose artistic works span a range of creative endeavours. Infused with a phenomenological sense of presence and absence, Nick’s works on canvas explore the depths of the psyche to uncover metaphors, symbols and emotions that force contemplation and reflection. Be sure to check out the latest offerings from Nicks oeuvre come January 4th
