On now at CAN – The HB Art Guide preview exhibition.

The exhibition by artist participants in the Hawke’s Bay Art Guide 2021 is currently showing at Creative Arts Napier and offers an insight into the work of those whose studios will be open to the public on Labour Weekend as part of the Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival celebrations.

It provides an opportunity to see the range of work they have been crafting and to seek out those whose work intrigues you most. This is the second Hawke’s Bay Art Trail, initiated last year by Creative Arts Napier and Arts Inc Heretaunga, the two community art galleries that regularly show work by artists of the region. It’s now a regular event that is gaining traction with locals and visitors.

With the insights provided by a visit to the current CAN exhibition, you can plan your own art tour by grabbing an HB Art Trail map and over Labour Weekend with your friends take an inspiring meander around a range of Hawke’s Bay artists’ studios. Visit our makers and creators in their special places, hear their visions and processes, and of course, buy their work – and a rare opportunity to talk with the artists themselves.

As part of the Trail, galleries and pop-ups are also open to showcase art.

The Trail showcases the HB Art Guide participants and will include workshops and demonstrations throughout the weekend.

Saturday/Sunday, 23/24 October, 10am-4pm

Maps and more info available at:www.hawkesbayartguide.co.nzInstagram(@hawkesbayarttrail), Facebook, and from CAN in Napier, Hastings Community Art Gallery (Arts Inc.), regional i-Sites, libraries and participating HB Art Guide venues closer to the time.
