Te Awanga Estate Sunday Session

World-famous-in-Te Awanga! Join us for a cruisy Sesh on the lawn – our wine, their music and your vibe. Summer in Te Awanga at its finest!
Entry is $5 at the gate, kids under 12 are free, bring a picnic rug, sprawl out, sit back and relax. Pizzas and all-day grazing available from our fab Te Awanga Estate kitchen, or bring your own picnic.
Absolutely no BYO alcohol thanks, we’ve plenty of deliciousness on site.
Gates open at midday, music kicks in at 1pm.
Tropical Downbeat Orchestra
Funky Soul and Boogie-Dub specialists Tropical Downbeat Orchestra have been lighting up dance floors across the country for two decades. Think funk 45’s with that soul singing sister, winding up her hips with a band of brothers providing the deep fried beats and abstract cuts. A unique blend of musicians, an equally unique sound.
TDO is a fun loving family who share a passion for music. Lead vocalist Margot Pierard lets her voice do the work and her hips do the shaking, at times silky smooth, others raw and commanding. She works the band with her every delivery.
