On average, the Hawke’s Bay Rescue Helicopter flies over 400 missions each year. Over 80% of these missions provide urgent medical assistance at accident scenes or inter-hospital transfers for the critically ill.
The Rescue Helicopter is also utilised for Police operations, National Search and Rescue operations, education, and training and demonstrations.

No one pays to use the life-saving service of the Hawke’s Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust.
So, in addition to funding from the Health Ministry and ACC they need to meet their annual operating costs of around $2.5 million by raising around $1.3 million each year.
Plus, there are plans afoot for a more efficient, higher capability new helicopter, offering fuel savings, more capacity and speed, less maintenance cost.
In short, the Trust needs your support.
