Louise Miller

Napier City Council has appointed Louise Miller as its new chief executive officer.

Miller will take up the position on Monday 13 March. Her most recent role was as chief executive of Kaipara District Council from September 2018 until October 2022. Since then she has been travelling in Europe and the United Kingdom.

She has held key positions at Tauranga City Council and Dacorum Borough Council in Hertfordshire, England as well as in Kaipara.

Her appointment as NCC’s chief executive would appear to be a step up. The rural Kaipara District Council serves 27,000 residents and has an operating budget of $60 million, as compared to Napier’s $149 million.

She’s a more conventional choice than NCC’s last CEO, which didn’t work out so well.

We look forward to meeting her in March.
